Pawminded uses only science-based, 100% positive reinforcement training methods endorsed by the AHA, HSUS, SPCA, ASPCA and most Schools of Veterinary Medicine. No shock, “vibration”, “e” collars, prong collars or choke collars.
Our training and boarding program takes place in Pawminded’s dog-friendly and safe home. The house is set up specifically for Pawminded services in order to maintain the highest quality and care.
We only take a limited number of students (doggies) at a time in order to allow the time/resources for each dog in the program.
All puppies need to have the following vaccines: Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Bordetella and Rabies Virus. Adenovirus 2 and Parainfluenza Virus vaccines are recommended but not required. When beginning the training and boarding training all the vaccines have to be up to date.
The essential vaccines include the DHLPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parvo, and Parainfluenza) have to be up to date. We also require the Bordetella vaccine and the Rabies vaccine.
We noticed that visits of family members can be very counterproductive and disruptive for the training process, so we don’t recommend it. However, we are very transparent and of course, if needed, you can visit your pup.
